Review of New Hip Restaurant at PIK, The Garden.
It was a good Sunday afternoon with wonderful company and thankfully delicious food. The Garden is a new restaurant at PIK (Pantai Indah Kapuk) with a gorgeous decoration I might say. The ambience was nice, relaxing, and just comfortable. This was my first time visiting The Garden and it was quite satisfying. For a newly opened restaurant I was impressed with their menus-both for the foods and drinks. They give you a lot to choose from, but mostly asian-flavour dishes. Nice, could be better. The sambal was a bit too tomato-ish for me. It is basically sautéed escargot with sambal, sprinkled with fried chopped garlic, asian garnish (spring onion and chilli julienne), and prawn crackers. The fried garlic gives this dish an extra flavour which is good, especially because I LOVE garlic! Nothing to brag about this dish, but it was good afterall.
I mean who doesn't love Rendang? This so called wagyu rendang was gooooooooooood. It was flavourful, I had wonderful time eating it. But-there is always a but-it was way too expensive for that amount of meat I received. Understand that it was wagyu (tho I doubt it but even if it's true-) why oh why they have to shredded it? I think it'll be better if they served it nicely cube or whatever shape but just don't shred it :( It makes the dish look even smaller. So yes, it was good, delicious, but for that price? Nope. This dish definitely won't be the reason why I want to go back here.
BEST NASI KECOMBRANG I'VE EVER HAD. Better than the one in Gioi (for me personally) Love the fact that they put slice chilli in the rice-LOVE LOVE SPICY! Duck was tender, the three types of chilli was okay. The only disappointment was the Urap, it was bitter somehow, I think something was wrong with the paste, I do hope it was a one time thing and next time it won't taste bitter. But yey to this! Great job, chef!
I did order Creamy Chicken Truffle Dumpling and Green Peace Curry Barramundi, but couldn't get a good picture on both of the dish. Anyway the dumpling was so-so and the curry was not good. It was too sweet for my taste, and just not to my liking.

Love the Nutella Doughnuts! This dessert was good, it was thoughtful, nicely balanced flavour. Not loving the matcha ice cream tho 'cause it's just not smooth enough. But yes I will definitely break my diet routine for this one!
So I guess that's it! I will definitely go back here and try their other dishes. Now it's your turn!
